The Dollop with Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds

The Dollop is Dave Anthony reading a strange American story to Gareth Reynolds, who has not heard it, so the jokes can be real.

The subjects are historical oddities, riots, grifters, and forgotten disasters. Anthony is the researcher. Reynolds is the audience. Together they turn a footnote into an hour that is both a history lesson and a comedy set.

The show has a political point of view that gets sharper in later years. The format stays: one story, told straight enough that the absurdity does not need to be invented.

Pick a topic from a century you think was sensible. The episodes are long, and the tangents are half the comedy. You do not need to have heard the previous one.
