Dead Eyes

Dead Eyes is Connor Ratliff’s long investigation of a small humiliation: Tom Hanks fired him from a Band of Brothers role because of his eyes, or so the story went.

Ratliff interviews actors, directors, and friends, and he performs his own spiral with enough jokes that the vanity stays visible. The tape about work and luck is not.

The series became a cult because it refused to resolve on schedule. Ratliff keeps checking whether he still wants the ending he planned.

Early episodes are the premise. Later ones are about what the premise did to the host, which is the better half.
